Welcome to our blog. We are Chad and Kelly Rosamond, Roman Catholics who have been married for going on 3 decades now. God has blessed us with seven children on earth ranging in age from 4 to 23 years and 5 children in heaven. Chad graduated from the University of Utah with an MS in statistics, but continues to nurture a life-long love of carpentry. Kelly graduated from the University of Georgia with and MEd in speech pathology, but has been a full time homemaker since 2005. She currently devotes her time to helping Chad with our farm, schooling their children (and often others), and managing their home. Chad has recently left the corporate world and our family is embarking on the journey of self-employment together.
We wear many hats; we have been homeschooling for over 20 years and we operate a small urban farm, a door remodeling business, and a farm to table bed and breakfast. We share a passion for our Catholic faith, Catholic classical education, liturgical living, restoration of beautiful culture through the study of the humanities and the practice of fine and practical arts, fostering local community and economy, and a love of harmony between how we live and God's design in nature.
Over the years on our property we have offered many educational opportunities for local home school families: marksmanship practice, theater, folk music sessions, dances, a variety of practical arts like carpentry and sewing classes, and also academic classes. Subscribe for updates on offerings. We hope you will follow our business projects on this blog as well and recommend our services to others! Our farm mostly provides for our family, but we regularly have a surplus of milk, eggs, and honey, as well as many other seasonal items. You can see a full list of farm projects here.
Villa Mariae Auspicis means "Little Farm Under the Protection of Mary." We believe Our Lady helped us find our home here and pray for her ongoing help in using it to serve God and our neighbors.
